PROCHARGER RACERS TO THE FRONT IN 2017!

“TO THE FRONT” OR “TTF” IS A FUN LITTLE CATCH PHRASE!

But it’s really a true description of what is happening in the world of drag racing! Its not only in the ‘heads up” categories of NMRA, NMCA, and the Outlaw Drag Radial events that we have had years of success in the past, but now we have proven our movement “TTF” in NHRA Top Dragster and No Prep races!

To start the 2017 racing season the lets head west to Pomona, California for the NHRA Winternationals where Mike Coughlin and the Jegs racing team take the win in Top Dragster. The combination to success for this team is a ProLine built Big Block Chevy with lots of boost from a ProCharger F3R-136! Congrats to Mike and the Jegs team!

Next, let’s head east to Florida to the NHRA Gatonationals! In testing before qualifying started, Lester Johnson ripped off a record setting 5.949 @ 244.16 pass in his Top Sportsman 1955 Chevy. Johnson’s BAE Hemi power plant is fed 50+ psi of boost by a ProCharger F3R-136.

We now head to the great state of Texas for the Bounty Hunters II No Prep race. Rick Hilton and his blacked out 3rd gen Camaro powered by an F-2 ProCharger took home the win in the True Street class. Congrats Rick!

And we end up in Florida for the season opening NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem race where Derek Putnam took home the win in True Street 9 second class. If you’re not familiar with the True Street class, it may be the class of racing that is the ultimate test of power and durability. The racers must complete a 30 mile drive on public roads, with occasional stop and go traffic. Then return to the racetrack and go straight to the staging lanes for a 30 minute cool down. During that period, they are not allowed to open the hood or trunk to make any adjustments or repairs. The racers then make 3 passes, returning straight back to the staging lanes after each pass without opening the hood or trunk for any adjustments. The 3 runs are averaged out to determine the winner.

Sometimes the durable power of the ProCharger isn’t enough to put you into the winners circle. Every once in a while you need luck too. And as many of you know, that is racing! Here are some notable Runners-up, #1 qualifier’s, and even a reset record!
