AMERICAN ETHANOL IS BACK ON TOP WITH PROCHARGER BOOST
Don Onken’s American Ethanol Mystic Race Team reclaimed the overall Top Gun title at the 2026 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, charging through the three-quarter-mile course at an incredible 215 mph!
With Tony Battiato behind the wheel and John Cosker on the throttles, the 51-foot Mystic Powerboats catamaran once again proved what happens when world-class engineering, an experienced team, and serious ProCharger Superchargers power come together on the water. The victory marks the team’s 11th Top Gun title!
The 215 mph pass was the fastest of the weekend and put American Ethanol back at the top of one of performance boating’s biggest events.
10,000+ HP OF PROCHARGED POWER
Powering a 51-foot catamaran beyond 200 mph takes a combination that is anything but ordinary.
American Ethanol runs four V8 engines producing more than 10,000 combined horsepower, with two engines positioned on each side of the boat. Each engine is paired with a ProCharger F-4R-136 centrifugal supercharger.
That means x4 engines. x4 F-4R-136 ProChargers. More than 10,000 horsepower!
The current engine combination produces approximately 2,500 horsepower per engine, while ProCharger’s F-4R-136 superchargers provide the airflow needed to support this extreme marine application.
And when Battiato and Cosker put all that power to work at Lake of the Ozarks, the result was a 215 mph Top Gun-winning pass.
