NOW SHIPPING – PROCHARGER P-1R: 1,200+ HP CAPABILITY IN P-1X PACKAGING

What if you could take everything enthusiasts love about the compact P-1X and add 250 more horsepower of rated capability—without changing the external dimensions?
Meet the new ProCharger P-1R.
Rated to support 1,200+ supercharged horsepower, the P-1R packs substantially more airflow and power potential into the exact same external dimensions as the proven P-1X, with a similar power curve. That means it fits anywhere a P-1X fits, works with existing P-1X bracketry and piping, and gives serious street and street/strip builds a new path into four-digit power without stepping up to a larger F-series package.
And it is not just a concept or a future product. The P-1R is available and ready to ship now.
250 MORE HP OF RATED CAPABILITY. SAME COMPACT SIZE.

The P-1X has earned its reputation as one of ProCharger’s most versatile street and street/strip superchargers. Officially rated at 950 HP, it has also proven capable of supporting many combinations making well beyond 1,000 HP.
The new P-1R takes that formula considerably further.
The P-1R is officially rated at 1,200+ HP, with maximum airflow increasing from 1,275 CFM on the P-1X to 1,600 CFM. For those people who prefer Tuner Kits, they will have a little more flexibility with the P-1R’s maximum rated boost pressure, which increases to 36 psi.
Yet externally, the P-1R occupies nearly the same space as the P-1X.
For owners and builders who have been looking at their P-1X and thinking, I love this package, but I want another 250 HP of capability, the P-1R is the answer.
P-1X vs. P-1R

P-1X
- 950 HP rated capability
- 1,275 CFM maximum airflow
- 32 psi maximum boost
- 9-inch volute
- 4.10:1 internal step-up ratio
P-1R
- 1,200+ HP rated capability
- 1,600 CFM maximum airflow
- 36 psi maximum boost
- Similar 9-inch volute
- Same 4.10:1 internal step-up ratio
- Similar external dimensions and fitment as P-1X
The P-1R achieves its additional airflow capability without relying on a more aggressive internal step-up ratio. Both the P-1X and P-1R use ProCharger’s 4.10:1 ratio and have a maximum impeller speed of 65,000 rpm.
That makes the P-1R particularly appealing for enthusiasts who want substantially more capability while keeping the compact packaging that made the P-series so popular.
The P-1R is about giving the person who has outgrown the P-1X somewhere exciting to go next without impacting fitment.
STREET, TRACK, AND DYNO PROVEN!

Having a 1,200+ HP-capable supercharger does not mean you have to use all of it every time you leave the driveway.
That flexibility is another major advantage of the P-1R.
A street-driven combination can use a larger supercharger pulley and pump gas to slow the P-1R down and produce a more conservative power level for everyday driving.
When it is time for the track, a properly prepared combination can move to E85, a smaller supercharger pulley, the appropriate supporting fuel system, and corresponding tuning to take advantage of considerably more of the P-1R’s airflow capability.
One supercharger can support very different versions of the same car.
The limiting factor increasingly becomes the engine, fuel system, drivetrain, and overall combination—not whether the blower has enough airflow left.

The new ProCharger P-1R is available and ready to ship now.
Customers ordering a new ProCharger Tuner Kit can select the P-1R as their supercharger upgrade. Existing P-1X owners can also upgrade their current combination to the P-1R.
The P-1R carries a modest additional cost over the P-1X while remaining below the F-1A-94 upgrade level. Because upgrade pricing varies depending on the supercharger and system you are starting with, contact ProCharger for specific pricing.
The P-1R is also available in the same finish options offered for the P-1X.
For customers interested in purchasing an individual head unit outside of a complete system or upgrade, contact the ProCharger Sales Team to discuss your application.
P-1R QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
SHOULD I CHOOSE A P-1R OR D-1X?
The D-1X remains a strong choice for many street and street/strip combinations, but the P-1R is better suited for customers looking for greater overall power potential. With more maximum airflow and horsepower capability, the P-1R can support a higher peak power level while also delivering more average power throughout the usable RPM range.
For modern, high-flowing engine combinations with room to grow, the P-1R provides additional headroom without requiring a larger supercharger package.
SHOULD I CHOOSE A P-1X OR P-1R?
If your goal is a stock-engine or moderate-power street build, the P-1X remains an excellent choice. If you are building an engine and supporting combination designed for four-digit horsepower and want more airflow headroom, the P-1R gives you an additional 250 HP of rated capability without requiring more space.
WILL A P-1R FIT MY EXISTING P-SERIES PROCHARGER SYSTEM?
Yes. The P-1R share the same external dimensions as the P-series supercharger head units. Existing P-series customers can replace their existing blowers to the new P-1R supercharger without replacing the supercharger bracket, intercooler, or charge piping.
Appropriate pulley, belt, fuel-system, and tuning changes may be required based on the desired power level.
CAN I RUN A P-1R ON PUMP GAS?
Yes. A P-1R does not have to operate near its maximum capability. A larger supercharger pulley can slow the blower down for a more conservative pump-gas street combination. Customers looking for considerably more power can use a smaller pulley with the appropriate fuel, engine combination, supporting components, and tuning.
DO I NEED A BUILT ENGINE FOR A P-1R?
Not simply to install one, but making full use of a 1,200+ HP-capable supercharger requires an engine and supporting combination prepared for that level of power.
The P-1R is especially well suited for modern, high-flowing stock-engine applications such as S550 and S650 Mustangs, 2021+ Ford F-150s, 2019+ GM trucks and SUVs, and 2015+ Dodge Challenger and Charger 6.4L models. These engines can take advantage of the P-1R’s increased airflow, while still giving builders room to grow as the rest of the combination is upgraded.
For many applications, engine upgrades become increasingly important as power approaches or exceeds four-digit levels.
