ProCharger Power for the Road Course

When compared to street driving or drag racing, the demands being placed on a supercharger and intercooler system operated on a road course are significantly higher. Whereas a street or drag car may only see a few seconds of full-throttle acceleration, a road course car goes through multiple full-throttle applications during a single lap. With most track day lapping sessions lasting 20 to 30 minutes, road course drivers spend at least 3/4 of their driving time on the throttle. To put this in perspective, a street car making 12-second 1/4 mile passes would have to make approximately 75 passes to equal the amount of time spent on throttle (and in boost) that a road course driver experiences in just ONE 20-minute lapping session!

The reason a ProCharger Intercooled system is so durable for road course use is in the product design advantages. ProCharger's centrifugal designs produce far higher compressor efficiency than positive displacement and screw superchargers. This means cooler air temperatures, and lower parasitic losses. In addition, ProCharger's air-to-air intercooling provides inherent cooling advantages over air-to-water intercoolers. Finally, because centrifugals are typically mounted to the side of the engine - like an accessory they operate much cooler than positive displacement blowers or turbochargers. Heat transfer from the engine to the blower (and intercooler) or turbo due to engine top mounting or an exhaust interface is significant.

These are just some of the reasons drivers are adding supercharged power, but the main one is what we all search for - falling lap times! On top of giving an average a 10-15 mph straightaway gain, ProCharger gives you the power to get out of the corner harder and faster.
