At the NMCA's Muscle Car Nationals event at Reading, PA, past-ProCharger champion racer Jim Blair set the pace with in Super Street 10.5W with a 4.47 @ 159 mph. That was good enough to earn Blair and his crew the no. 1 qualifying spot on the slippery Maple Grove surface. At the mid-season break, Blair currently leads the Super Street 10.5W point standings.
In Xtreme Street racing, ProCharger-equipped racers once again served notice of some serious speed and power, in spite of the less-than-ideal track conditions. Jason Lee qualified his red Mustang no. 3 with a 5.28 @ 135 mph, while Chicago-area racer Chris Singleton put his ProCharged Mustang in the no. 4 spot with a 5.29 @ 137 mph. East coast racer, Chuck Bartholme also qualified with a 5.30 @ 135 in his Mustang. Marching through eliminations, it was Singleton and Bartholme in the finals with Singleton taking the win. Congratulations to the Singleton team on their first Xtreme Street event win and their mid-season second position points ranking.
Making his first-ever appearance at an NMCA event, Outlaw Pro Modified racer Rick Fleck and his Flex Racing team were on hand to shake down their all-new ProCharger F-3R equipped Corvette, Dragon II. This high-powered, carbon fiber work of racing art is capable of low 4 second / high 3 second 1/8 mile passes and is going to be something to watch once the team gets their 1/4-mile program sorted out. Look for the Flex Racing crew at the inaugural NMCA / NMRA All-Star Nationals, August 8 & 9 at zMax Dragway in Charlotte, NC.

When the tire smoke had cleared, it was Lee powering his way to his third NMRA Drag Radial win in a row. At the mid-point of the NMRA season, Lee is leading the points. Congrats to Jason and his entire team on their outstanding first-half performances.
Over in ProCharger Super Street Outlaw, five-time champion John Urist used his ProCharger power to qualify no. 1 with an impressive 7.40 @ 197 mph. Consistently improving with every event, Johnny MacDonald qualified his ProCharger-powered Mustang in the no. 3 position with a 7.47 @ 195 mph. Racing through the ten-and-a-half-inch tire freak show that is SSO, Urist once again proved he's the one to beat by taking home another Super Street Outlaw event win and firmly establishing himself for a run at yet another national championship Nitto Tire ring. Way to go John! Urist is currently second in SSO points and MacDonald holds down the number three spot.
Urist wasn't the ProCharger champion serving notice, as Real Street racers Tim Matherly and Jim Breese continue to dominate this bumper-draggin' class. Matherly put his ProCharger P-1SC-2 equipped Mustang on the pole with a 9.62 @ 145 mph, with Breese qualifying in the no. 2 spot with a 9.75 @ 143. Laying waste to the rest of the field, Matherly and Breese made it the THIRD all-ProCharger finals of the weekend, with Matherly taking the win and extending his championship points lead, while Breese ranks number three.
Still sorting out his new car, AJ Powell used his ProCharger power to qualify no. 4 in the highly-competitive 10.5W action with a 7.23 @ 196 mph and advanced all the way to the semi-finals. At the mid-season break, Powell sits number four in points.
