ProCharger Bracket Challenge: July 18th - 20th @ Maple Grove Raceway
It was a weekend full of hot weather and hot cars at the Maple Grove Super Chevy event, July 18th-20th. ProCharger brought the big rig to Pennsylvania to show off some of our meanest customer cars and to give away $3,000 in a special ProCharged cars only event.

The action really got going on Saturday when we started the ProCharger Bracket Challenge, a bracket race only open to ProCharger equipped vehicles. The field ranged from a 7 second dragster to a GM truck that pulled a race trailer to the event! The action was great but the finals is where it really got interesting with a match up between Cory Seiverling in his Chevy crew cab street truck / tow rig and Paul Ferrucci in his eight second Malibu. After running consistent 8.40's all day Ferrucci ended up with the win, and proved the consistent predictable power of a ProCharger, when he ran an 8.391 quarter mile on an 8.390 dial-in! Seiverling took the runner-up prize of $1,000 and Ferrucci ended up with the $2,000 grand prize.
Fun Ford Weekend: July 11th - 13th @ Summit Racing Motorsports Park
Summit Racing Motorsports Park near Norwalk, OH, hosted the 18th annual Buckeye State FFW Nationals July 11th-13th and two ProCharger racers, Mike Modeste and Johnny Macdonald, where in attendance to run the ProCharger Superchargers Renegade Class. The story of the weekend was Modeste, AKA Mustang Mike, running a best time of 7.62 and beating out number 1 qualifier and nitrous racer Don Burton for the event win. Modeste is currently holding 3rd place in the points standings, right behind another ProCharger racer, Travis Franklin, who holds the number 1 spot.
  NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl: July 17th - 20th @ Route 66 Raceway
Route 66 Raceway outside of Joliet, IL was the location for the 3rd annual NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing. Fifteen ProCharger-equipped racers attended the event and put on a dominating performance, recording wins in both NMCA Pro Street and NMRA Super Street Outlaw.

The NMCA Pro Street class again saw Mark Micke snatch up the number one qualifying position with a 6.32 @ 221 MPH. Mick powered his way to the finals where he ended up with the overall win. The Micke crew is possibly having the most dominating race season ever in NMCA and ProCharger history! The crew has seen four final round appearances with three wins out of only four NMCA races.
Jim Blair qualified number two with a 6.96 @ 201 MPH in NMCA Super Street. Blair ran consistent sixes all through eliminations but ended up losing in the second round. In Xtreme Street ProCharger racer Mike Alwardt qualified seventh out of 23 entries. Alwardt ended up losing in the second round.
On the NMRA side, three of the top five Super Street Outlaw were all powered by ProCharger. AJ Powell led the way with an incredible 7.42 @ 185 MPH, earning him the number one spot. John Urist took the number four spot with a 7.49 @ 186 MPH. Urist later went on to the finals where he took home the win. The SSO class is shaping up to be a dogfight between Powell and Urist. This win established Urist as the series points leader, but Powell is not far behind with the second place spot.
NMRA Real Street saw another Tim and Jim show this weekend. Tim Matherly qualified number two with a 9.70 @ 140 MPH while Jim Breese took the number five spot with a 9.84 @ 137 MPH. Matherly lost in the semi-finals and Breese took the runner-up position in the finals.
  DynoMax Power to the Wheels
The DynoMax Power to the Wheels competition just finished its 12th stop and ProCharger powered cars have been laying down some outstanding numbers. After taking four of the top six spots in the 2007 competition, ProCharger supercharger owners are again setting big power numbers in 2008. Mark Gjavenis, a top 10 finisher in 2007, took 2nd place at the Car Craft Summer Nationals stop with 1,249 rwhp in his '65 Chevelle. You will also remember that Jim Plimpton, the 2008 Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags winner, took home 1st place honors on the Hot Rod Power Tour with 1,312 rwhp in his supercharged and intercooled '87 Thunderbird. But the power didn't stop there - Mike Roy put down 1,202 rwhp at the Hot Rod Super Nationals stop in his small block '71 Monte Carlo with an F-2 ProCharger, taking first place at that event. That's almost 4,000 ProCharged ponies that have hit the DynoMax dyno this year! DynoMax still has two more stops before the Shoot Out Invitational in September and ProCharger is excited to see who is able to put the most Power to the Wheels.
  Street Machine of the Year
The Car Craft Street Machine of the Year competition is a three stage event that tests acceleration, braking, handling and rear wheel horsepower. This year at the Car Craft Summer Nationals, eight of the nations hottest street cars entered the 1982-present model year class. Dan Shoneck's ProCharger supercharged and intercooled GT-500 Mustang put down a dyno number of 817 rwhp, a road course time of 26.2 seconds, and a 60-0 braking distance of only 117 feet, securing him the 1st place spot for the event. This not only established Schoneck's car as the Car Craft Street Machine of the year, but also one of the baddest GT-500's in the country! Look for a feature on his car in an upcoming issue of Car Craft magazine.
  NHRA Top Sportsman
Ben Board has been representing ProCharger in Division 3 NHRA competition for a few years now. Board's ProCharged Top Sportsman S-10 clicks off consistent 6's at over 200 MPH and is currently in the top 10 in points. Board has been working out his combination the first part of this season so check these race updates often to see what he is able to pull together for the last few races.
  ORSCA E-Z Street
"We got so tired of tearing up engines on nitrous... after making the switch to ProCharger and dialing in our combination, we have 135 passes on the engine and it still runs strong." This is a quote from Steve Jackson who is a former nitrous racer in the ORSCA E-Z Street class and who recently made the switch to a ProCharger F-2 supercharger in his Fox Body Mustang. Jackson has been mopping them up and is currently in the number one points position for the series. Jackson's best 1/8th mile pass is a 4.97 @ 148.6 MPH.
  Missouri State Tractor Pulling
Scott and Mike Bracken have been at it again this year in the Missouri State Tractor Pulling Association. The Bracken Brother's tractor named "Outlaw" runs a ProCharger F-3R-139 on each of its TWO Hemi power plants, allowing this 7200 Modified Tractor to put out more than 4,000 horsepower to those big back tires. The Brackens have been cleaning up this season, winning four events so far and taking runner-up at three more. The Brackens are sitting in the top 3 of the points standings and there are still 11 events this season. Everyone is excited to see just how many wins they can bring home.
