At The 17th Annual O'Reilly Texas Thunder Fun Ford Weekend Nationals at Houston Raceway Park, Street Renegade saw a nine car field post qualifying times from 7.80's to 9.40's. Travis Franklin and Richard Lelsz found their way to first and second respectively on the list, and were only separated by .055 seconds. The two met in round three where Franklin cut a great .012 light and never looked back on his way to running 7.89 @180. That set up another ProCharger versus turbo race for the finals with Franklin taking on the fifth qualifier, Kenjo Kelley. At the light, Kelley had the advantage with an .019 light to Franklin's .042. All the way down the track it looked dead-even, but Franklin pro-charged his way around and got to the stripe first with a 7.87 @179 to Kelley's 8.02.
Past NMRA SSO Champion, Jim Blair, became one of first four drivers of the season to earn back-to-back wins in their respective eliminators at the 6th Annual NOS NMCA Hot Rod and Muscle Car Nationals held at Beach Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In just the second race of the 2007 Edelbrock Drag Racing Series, Blair notched his second consecutive race win in Nitto Tire Super Street 10.5W with a best ET of 7.14 @ 208 mph. The race of the event was in the semis where Blair raced number one qualifier Dan Millen. Millen took a starting line advantage, but was unable to hold off the top end charge of Blair and his F-3R-131 ProCharger-equipped ’01 Mustang, losing to the Florida racer 7.27 to 7.14.
May 18th-20th saw the National Street Car Association invade the famous Atco Raceway in New Jersey. Jarod Wenrick took his ProCharger-equipped ‘68 Camaro all the way to the semi-finals in Pro Street while ripping off 6.40’s @ 222 mph. Wenrick left the Garden State 3rd in points in NCSA Pro Street points. Jarod will be competing in a match race against Mark Micke (best of 6.32 @ 228) at the Super Chevy Show in Indianapolis this July.
At the Atlanta Outlaw Racing Street Car Association event, David Reese laid waste to the EZ Street class in route to capturing new world records in ET (4.89) and MPH (157). Reese qualified his big block Chevy-powered Mustang in the number one spot and also took home the class win. Running an F-3 ProCharger on their methanol-fueled 632 cu. in. monster, Reese Langston Motorsports came out as a brand new team in ORSCA 2007 and have firmly placed themselves at the top of the heap when it comes to stock suspension racing.
Ric Fleck of Flex Racing, in his 2000 Camaro powered by a ProCharger F-3R, runner upped at the Quick 8 Outlaws event May 26-27th in Darlington. Ric ran consistent 1/8th mile 4.20's in a class where centrifugals were previously not run, and roots blowers and nitrous were used historically. Fleck switched from nitrous to ProCharger in 2006, and is currently 2nd in points. In addition to Quick 8 competition, you can also see Ric run at upcoming Super Chevy shows in Indianapolis (July) and Kansas City (August), as well as at his own Quick 8 Shootout event (Quick 8 Outlaws vs East Coast Powerglides) at Darlington August 3-5.
NOPI isn't just about imports anymore and Phil Clemmons represented American muscle with by winning the April makeup race in ProStreet Tire as well as the May NDRA event, both held in Maryland. In addition to these two wins, Phil was also the #1 qualifier at the rained out Atco event. Clemmons, NMRA Drag Radial champion in 2004 and record holder in 2005, also has had success in FFW racing and appears intent on earning another championship in 2007, this time in the NOPI Drag Racing Association.

At the Mobil 1 World Ford Challenge X held at O'Reilly Raceway Park near Indianapolis, IN, Travis Franklin battled his way through the pairings to score a runner-up finish in the tough Super Street Outlaw class. Over the course of the event, Franklin posted a top a top speed of 194 mph.
