Doug Mangrum qualifies #1 with a 6.82 ET @ 212 mph, and takes his first win of the season in NMRA Pro 5.0 at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA. Donnie Walsh qualifies #2 at the event. In Super Street Outlaw, Mike Trimandilis qualifies in the 7’s and captures runner-up, powered with a ProCharger D-3R. In fact, 3 of the top 5 qualifiers are ProCharged, as Jason Smith qualifies #1 with a 7.91 @ 179, while Trimandilis qualifies third and Todd Fluman fifth. However, not all news is good as Mike Smith hits the wall, but fortunately is OK. In the Drag Radial class at the same event, newcomer Philip Clemmons qualifies #3 with a non-intercooled F-1R, and will become even more of a threat when he gets his intercooler installed in the near future.

In Fun Ford action at Commerce, Georgia, Dan Schoneck wins Street Renegade just weeks after switching over to a ProCharger F-1R, and is knocking on the door of the 8's with a 9.01 @ 150 mph. Mike Freeman, the 2002 Street Renegade champion who is a veteran of the 8-second zone, posts low ET during qualifications with a 9.06, also running an F-1R. In the Pro 5.0 class at Commerce, the Gillig/Huston team makes big power and consistently runs rounds in their F-3R-powered Big Red III, capturing runner-up at the event.

Meanwhile, in PRO series competition down in Bradenton, Joel Greathouse posts a gutsy Super Street win while experiencing the full range of emotions over the weekend. After completely overpowering the tires in bad conditions, qualifying last, and even brushing the wall, Greathouse faces an uphill battle in eliminations. Joel and his team de-tune the car to adapt to conditions, and Greathouse demonstrates his skill by driving through the bracket to take the hard earned and well deserved win. This top Super Street car is powered by a new chain-driven reverse F-3M.
