The Freeman/Goss team is victorious once again at the Fun Ford event on August 4 in Bristol. By taking this latest win, Mike Freeman has already wrapped up Fun Ford’s Street Renegade championship for the 2002 season. He also holds the world record for top ET and mph in Fun Ford’s side of the Renegade class. Congratulations for another well-deserved win and a dominating season. In the NMRA's EFI Renegade class, the LaRocca/Freedman team takes another win at Atco, and holds the points lead in that class as well as both top ET and mph records. The power adder of choice for both of these teams is the self-contained ProCharger F-1R. |

2002 ASSC Racing’s Jim Summers and Tim Huston post a healthy 6.75 ET @ 209 mph with their new state-of-the-art “Big Red III” at the Fun Ford event in Norwalk, Ohio. By doing so, they regain the title of quickest and fastest centrifugal race car, edging Doug Mangrum, who held low ET for most of the past year. The team was also ready to capture the win in Pro 5.0 at this event, with a wide lead at half-track in the finals, but settled for runner-up when the car got loose and Jim had to lift. With only a few full passes on the car thus far, be looking for 6.60’s or 6.50’s soon from this intercooled F-3R powered Ford small block. |
