Jason Cohen prepares
to stage for another low 8 second blast.

April 7-8, 2001
NMRA - Atlanta, Georgia
Of the four classes that allow superchargers (Pro 5.0, Outlaw, Renegade
and Real Street), ProCharger cars were top qualifier in 3, won 1, and
were runner up in 2. Jason Cohen was fastest in Outlaw w/ an 8.14 @
174, while Travis Franklin ran 8.32 @ 168. The win eluded Cohen as he
stepped up his power in the finals and blew away the tires, which kept
him from taking the win.
Congratulations
to Jason and Travis, who are both running the new ProCharger D-3R.

Jim Summers, facing
traction problems all weekend, detuned the car and ran a 7.30 @ 192.
Jim is running the new F-3SC. Mike Freedman took the win in Renegade
with his D-1R powered rocket, and out-powered Bob Kurgan in their quarter-final
matchup by over 5 mph. Chip Havemann debuted his new combination to
match his new paint, and while still shaking down his car, ran his fastest
time yet as he works to return to the championship form that allowed
him to claim 12 Renegade wins in the previous 2 seasons.
In Real Street,
Ed Curtis was driving a new car tuned by LaRocca's Performance and qualified
#1 and finished runner-up. His qualifying time was the fastest yet from
a Real Street car, a 10.95 ET @ 127 mph, powered by a P-1SC ProCharger.
