“Big Daddy” Don Garlits recently visited the ProCharger booth at the Super Chevy Show in Atlanta to interview ProCharger® Motorsports Director Jim Summers for ESPN2 and learn more about the latest ProCharger products. After the interview, Big Daddy graciously provided assistance with the drawing for the Intercooled ProCharger F-1R system that is being given away at each of six Super Chevy shows in 2004 (see schedule, upper right). Flanked by Summers and ProCharger Technical Service Manager Dave Culver, Garlits pulled the lucky winner from among 1000+ entries, and also signed the prize certifi cate as a souvenir.

In addition to the grand prize giveaway, ATI ProCharger is also campaigning
Project Nova and displaying at these six Super Chevy Show Tour dates. Project Nova is a very unique joint effort between ProCharger and Super Chevy magazine. The car weighs in at 3400 lbs and features a 427 cid carbureted crate motor, forcefed by an Intercooled F-2 ProCharger running 24 psi. To fully showcase the
performance gains delivered by an Intercooled ProCharger system running pump gas, the car runs both naturally aspirated and ProCharged exhibition passes at the shows.

The astounding performance gains seen at a recent Super Chevy show are typical. After running a 12.29 ET @ 111 mph naturally aspirated, the ‘69 Nova ran an 8.24 @ 166 mph only hours later with the ProCharger installed, close to the car’s previous best of 8.18 @ 170. This represents an improvement of over 4 seconds and 55 mph simply by adding the Intercooled ProCharger, and also makes this Nova the fastest pump gas car in the country.
