Eleven National Championships for ProCharged Racers in the Past 2 Years!

After capturing 5 national championships and 10 national records last year, the most successful season ever for a centrifugal manufacturer, ProCharged racers were even more dominant in 2004. In Super Street Outlaw, Jim Blair continued his phenomenal performance, running a best of 7.51 @ 186 mph this year with an Intercooled ProCharger F-3R and winning the S/S/O championship. Jim also owns the ET record in his class. The other end of the S/S/O honors is held by Zack Posey, who recently ran 193 mph to shatter the record with his ProCharged Mustang.

In Drag Radial competition, Phillip Clemmons won the championship in the NMRA series, holds the record for top ET, and has also won in FFW action. Phil has run a best of 8.26 @ 170 with his Intercooled F-1R. In Real Street racing, Tim Matherly was equally spectacular, winning the WFC7 championship as well as the NMRA championship. With a modular motor powered by a ProCharger P-1SC-2, Tim ran a best of 9.61 @ 142 mph.

In Pro 5.0, ‘03 champion Don Walsh, Jr. teamed with Phil Pickering this year to defend his title. The result was total domination in 2004, as this this team holds both ends of the record book and ran mid 6-second ET’s while winning their second consecutive championship. In NSCA Limited Street competition, Mike Modeste raised the bar once again in 2004 with his F-2 powered Mustang. Mike not only won the championship in that class, he has run a 7.91 @ 180 mph with his 289 cid motor, and owns both the ET and mph records. Other ProCharged racers, including D.J. Loicano and Joe Robinson, also hold records in Fun Ford competition, and finished high in the points standings.

In other news, Donny Hastings improved to a best of 8.19 @ 170 mph with his
F-2 powered '86 Camaro in Limited Street action, after recently switching from nitrous. In Clash of the Titans action, Mark Micke set the ET record near the end of the season with a 7.16 @ 196 with "W" tires in his F-3R powered '68 Camaro, and should be running in the 6’s soon. The Hardcore Motorsports team is also set to take the next step, as they recently ran an 8.11 @ 170 mph in testing down in Florida. They anticipate being in the 7’s soon with their F-2 powered '01 F-body. For a complete 2004 update, please visit the Racing News section at ProCharger.com.
